Eastern Virginia Medical School 4th Year Elective

Physicians for Peace medical volunteers have the opportunity of making an impact on the lives of others through sharing knowledge, building relationships, and educating/training medical professionals in the developing world.

This unique experience is available to a select few Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) students to travel overseas, gain a global perspective on international health, and to make real differences in the lives of real people.

5 Seats Open - 1 Stipend Awarded

The Physicians for Peace International Medical Mission EVMS Elective Program is focused on planning a medical mission with the guidance of Physicians for Peace. Students will research, prepare a medical mission plan, and ultimately - join a medical mission trip to observe, learn, and gather data for their mission report. Only five seats are available for this elective and only one student will be awarded a stipend to cover the travel costs. Submit your form to be one of five chosen for this program.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this competitive 4th year EVMS elective program, you will need to have the following requirements: 
- Interest in global health 
- Demonstrated community service experience
- Academic merit 
- 4th year student at EVMS
