Volunteer Surgeons Needed in Malawi - Opening for January - March 2012

Posted by: elibby. 0 comments

We have openings for a volunteer surgeon to serve as a visiting faculty member in the Surgical Intern Training Project at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital/College of Medicine (QECH/COM) in Blantyre, Malawi. The surgeon will provide lectures and hands on training according to a general surgical curriculum. Both active and retired surgeons with current license and teaching experience are encouraged to apply. Physicians for Peace and QECH/COM will provide airfare, housing, support staff, and a car for use, as well as a small stipend to defray living expenses.

We currently have an opening for January - March 2012.  For those with interest who may not be available during this time frame, there is an ongoing need for surgeons to serve for 3 month rotations.

Please complete medical volunteer form to be considered for the Malawi Volunteer Surgeon Opportunity and direct all questions to Laura Gwathmey, Director, Global Health Programs at: lgwathmey@physiciansforpeace.org.
