Get Involved, Get Inspired

We Always Need Volunteers

Our non-medical volunteer efforts are felt from all areas of the country hosting mission fundraisers, mobilizing limb and eyeglasses collection drives, and collecting donations for our programs. As a result of these volunteering efforts, we received significant donations of medical supplies and equipment to help our Walking Free, Seeing Clearly, Burn Care and Specialty Surgery programs. Our warehouse and overflow storage spaces were bursting at the seams with donations of crutches, walkers, canes, wheelchairs, and prosthetic limbs from groups in Virginia, Indiana, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Illinois, California, Alabama, New York, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Idaho, Montana, Florida, and Nebraska just to name a few. All of these donations are in short supply in many places where we work and will be shipped wherever they are needed the most.

Office and Event Opportunities:

Gala Event Help

Held in October, our annual Celebrate the Nations Gala Reception is an event that requires many hands to make it a success. We could use the help of a few detailed oriented folks to volunteer in the office July-August to assist in gala administrative functions, as well as help out at the event in October.

Warehouse

As large part of the mission work of Physicians for Peace is the shipping of medical supplies, equipment and other necessities integral in a successful medical mission. Physicians for Peace could always use an extra set of hands in our supply warehouse, from loading containers and unloading donation shipments, to organizing the

supplies.

Translation

As an international humanitarian agency we work in over 50+ countries and can always use the help of translators to assist in document translating. There is an on-going need for Spanish and French translators.

Office/Clerical Assistance

As in any office environment, there are administrative functions that keep the organization running smoothly. Physicians for Peace often needs assistance for things such as: answering the phones, press kit assembly, database clean-up, office organization and many others. If you’re available Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm est. this may be the opportunity for you.

Video Library

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Physicians for Peace, we are archiving our library of videos and historical marketing materials. We could use the help of one or two individuals to organize a video library in our offices.

Grant Research

As a non-profit organization, Physicians for Peace relies on donations and grants to operate. There are numerous grant opportunities that exist for non-profits. If you like surfing the web and researching, we could use your help. We’re looking for someone to research those hidden grant opportunities that fit the Physicians for Peace mission. Let us know if you have a few extra hours to research grants that may fit our focus of international medical education missions in the developing world.
