Student Volunteer

Make a big difference in one summer.

Each year, PFP offers summer internships to promising college students from a variety of academic backgrounds. In recent years, we've connected with students from pre-med, business, communications, international relations and women's studies tracks.

Interns work either with our Medical Operations team (Global Health Program Internship) or our Development/Communications team (Development and Communications Internship). All positions work from our headquarters in downtown Norfolk, Va. PFP interns work hard, but they also learn exactly what it takes to be part of a thriving international nonprofit. As a PFP intern, you'll gain invaluable experience and have the opportunity to build critical new skills.

“This entire experience has taught me so much already,” said Amy Edler, a recent intern from Old Dominion University. “I will use the skills I learned at PFP throughout my career in nonprofit work.”

EVMS Medical Mission Rotation

In addition to our internship program, EVMS students have the opportunity to participate in a fourth-year international medical mission rotation. For more information, go to the EVMS Elective page.

PFP Student Groups

PFP student groups are currently forming on several U.S. college campuses. We can put you in touch with an established organization or help you form a new group at your school. For more information, please contact Anna Wood.

Year-Round Warehouse Volunteer Opportunities

By helping to organize, screen and pack donations of medical equipment and supplies, warehouse volunteers provide an invaluable service to Physicians for Peace. We have an ongoing need for volunteer help from individuals and groups at our warehouse in Norfolk, Va. Download a description of volunteer requirements. For more information, contact Ken Hudson.
