BURN CARE TRAINING

Burn injuries can happen anywhere, to anyone, at any time.

But they disproportionately happen in lower-income communities all over the world, and especially to women and children.

Burn care is a highly specialized field that requires skilled, knowledgeable caregivers—from emergency responders, to surgeons, to nurses, to rehabilitation therapists.

In most lower-income regions, training in burn care isn't available for medical professionals.

Physicians for Peace has a robust burn-care training program serving countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, where the need is intense.

Our volunteer medical educators have taught their skills and knowledge to thousands of healthcare providers working with populations at risk of burn injuries.
