Closing One Chapter, Opening Another—The Mission Continues

After more than 30 years of global service, Physicians for Peace will conclude operations by August 31, 2025.

But this is not the end of our mission. It is a thoughtful transition—one that ensures the programs we’ve built together will continue to thrive.

What’s Next for the Mission?

Our Board of Directors has approved the transfer of key programs to ReSurge International, a respected nonprofit partner with over 55 years of leadership in reconstructive surgery and global surgical education.
ReSurge will carry forward several of our Physicians for Peace core initiatives, including:

  • The Malawi Scholars Program

  • The Tanzania Burn Rehabilitation Mentorship

  • The Burn Care Training Curriculum — now renamed the Physicians for Peace Burn Care Curriculum

With ReSurge’s strong infrastructure and broader global reach, these programs will continue—and grow—reaching more communities in need.
